Seafood cook and catch tours Victoria/Sooke/Sidney

My passion is fishing and creating wilderness cooking experiences with my catch. I used to be a fishing guide in Haida Gwaii (Langara and Peregrine lodge) and was also a cook at 2 of Steveston's favourite seafood restaurants. Now I live in Victoria and have a day job in tech. I still love getting on the water on my days off and I always try to catch a few fish for lunch/dinner. I find the experience of catching something, cooking it and eating it near where it was caught, to be very special, fulfilling and memorable, and I'd love to share this unique experience with you. Come join me in Victoria, Sidney or Sooke this summer (location of trip is wind/weather dependent) for a day of catch and cook. Salmon will likley be closed on April 1, and so we will target bottom fish, crab and/or shellfish. Typical day starts around 9am. We normally fish until noon or 1, then we'll pull up onto a beach and make lunch. If the fishing gods smile upon us, we should have a few fish for a hearty shore lunch. If not, I usually bring a plan B. After you eat and rest, we'll fish again until 3 or 4pm and wrap up the day processing your catch for you to bring home. My boat is not fancy, but it is safe. It holds 3 adults and 1 child comfortably, so that's me plus 2 adult guests and 1 child. I provide all the fishing gear and food. You provide snacks and drinks and you will need a tidal fishing license. I only operate tours on weekends and can usually go out of either Oak Bay, Sooke, or Sidney. I pick my location depending on winds for the day. If it's blowing everywhere, we simply won't go and I refund your money. Happy to answer any questions you may have. Cheers, Steve
